Though she’s still finalizing her divorce from estranged director husband Kyle Newman, Jaime King already is taking steps toward a fresh residential start. Records show the 43-year-old actress — best-known for her role as Southern belle Lemon Breeland on the CW series “Hart of Dixie” — has hoisted her longtime home in the mountains above Beverly Hills onto the market, asking a smidge under $2.8 million.
In 2003, King paid exactly $1 million for the house, which was reportedly built by the late Walt Disney for his daughter back in 1960. She subsequently enlisted HGTV interior designer Gabrielle Santiago to give the midcentury-modern structure an extensive makeover; today there are four bedrooms and three baths in 2,600 square feet of light-filled living space displaying high ceilings and designer light fixtures throughout.
Tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac bordering the coveted Trousdale Estates neighborhood, the boxy white stucco and frosted-glass structure is fronted by a hot-pink front door that opens to reveal a double-height foyer marked by a shallow pool lined with aqua Ann Sacks tile and a “floating” staircase. From there, a living room adorned with a decorative marble fireplace connects to a dining area boasting floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening seamlessly to a bamboo-encased backyard hosting a fire-pit.
Back inside, a galley-style kitchen is outfitted with custom rose-hued concrete countertops, wood paneling and cabinetry, a handcrafted brass sink and high-end GE Café appliances; and upstairs, a master retreat comes complete with a cozy sitting area, separate fireside office/den and bespoke mahogany walk-in closet, plus a skylit bath equipped with a soaking tub/shower combo. There’s also a private downstairs ensuite bedroom that’s perfect for guests or in-laws, plus a two-car attached garage.
King and Newman began dating in 2005 after meeting on the set of the movie “Fanboys” and wed in a ceremony at Greystone Mansion two years later, with King filing for divorce in May 2020.
The listing is held by Preston Gazowsky and Branden Williams of The Beverly Hills Estates.
