The clips had shoppers re-living their youths after a Facebook user shared the bargain Primark discovery

Primark has had shoppers pining for decades gone by after they spotted a bargain in the accessories section.

The retailer is stocking butterfly clips just like the ones that were all the rage in the ‘90s and ‘00s, priced at £1.50 for a pack of eight. After a member of the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Group on Facebook shared a snap of their discovery, thousands of people shared their feelings of nostalgia at seeing the colourful clips.

Many re-lived their experiences of styling their hair with the accessories in school, reported The Daily Record. “Remember separating the front of the hair into 6 sections with butterfly clips and the rest left down,” one member recalled.

“Brings back memories of hair twisted to go out in the 90s,” another person said.

A third commented: “Ohh the pain when you get one of these stuck in your curls!! Beautiful memories.”

Others reminisced about variations of the clips that they loved when they were children, including ones covered in glitter. And the quirky clips aren’t the only blast from the past that have been pleasing Primark shoppers lately.

One of the shop’s newest ranges left customers feeling like they had been transported back to the 80s - with a selection of Care Bears accessories . One shopper said they had “never needed to get to Primark more in my life” after hearing news of the range, which includes Care Bears mugs, pin badges and stationery.

Shoppers also became “obsessed” with another nostalgic item that one person discovered in her local Primark store. TikTok user kathrynisobella shared that she had found a classic water game that used to be popular with young children for just £1.
